Community Readers

A Community of Readers as Big as the High Plains

The initial reading of nominated titles is completed with the assistance of our community readers, who provide the initial evaluation of the books. Due to the time constraints of this process, readers are encouraged to reside in Billings, MT, and surrounding areas.

Community Readers will read and rate 3-4 books from a single category in a 8-week period during the spring (usually mid-March to mid-May) and provide feedback. To participate, please complete the form below.

    The Billings Public Library Board has established the High Plains Book Awards to recognize regional literary works which examine and reflect life on the High Plains, including the states of Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
